Went for my first fully loaded north shore trail ride with the Rollpacker 15 and Seatpacker 15 yesterday, along with an onsight equipment straddle bag and another small top tube bag and 2L of water on my FS mtb. an extra 35lbs of gear meant for about a 70lb total bike weight. I tackled about 8km of easier blue XC trails (Bridle Path + Sticks n' Stones). The extra momentum made for some interesting handling changes but I ended up about 1 minute faster (on a 1 hr lap) than I was without it as the momentum pushed me through some rooty parts that would otherwise bounce me around.
The top heavy weight took some getting used to, as did only just being able to see my front tire in front of the rollpacker but the bags were solid front and rear and made for very predictable handling even on the more technical sections and small (12-18") drops. There is one flat bottomed 3 ft+ rock roll on the trail which was a lot more sensational than usual but the bags and mounts were solid even on that hit. Overall a confidence inspiring system if you are thinking of some trail-based bikepacking.
carbon fork - no problem
Needed a light weight front pack solution for carbon fork and road bars. This 15L worked perfectly and transfers easily between road, gravel, MTB, touring and commuting bikes. With strap (not included), quickly converts to shoulder bag for off bike carry.
I've been using both the 15L Rollpacker (as a handlebar bag) and the 15L Seatpacker for my daily commute for about a year. While the initial cost of the bags seemed a bit steep, the fantastic build quality and completely waterproof nature of the materials made the choice a no-brainer. I have been especially impressed by how quickly I can mount my bags before and after my commute (less than 20 seconds for both of them). Unlike some of the other brands available, the lightweight racks provide hassle-free mounting that I don't need to think about while riding.
I ride a road-bike with very narrow wheel clearances with no mounting or eyelet holes, and the racks and bags fit wonderfully. Lastly, given that I live in Vancouver (where more often than not it seems to be raining), I am pleased to say that I have never experienced any kind of water ingress. A fantastic product. Absolutely worth the price.
