I bought this to use as a day bag for off-the-bike days during a European tour. It works GREAT as a shoulder bag, carrying just the right amount in comfort with easy access... but I've also come to appreciate it on the bike for everyday commuting as well as touring. It's a great place to put food items where they won't be crushed--- overripe bananas, for example. Lastly, when putting my bike on an airplane in a box, it was handy to leave this bag on the bike to hold my pedals and tools. I was a bit concerned about the velcro attachment system, but it's held up great and is easy to get on and off.
